Actors’ Theatre Summer Camps return to Schiller Park this year!
These half day camps are fun and inspiring for children and teens.
All camps run from 9am to noon Monday-Friday, with performance on Friday at 6:30pm. Camps cost $135 each, or choose two camps for $250. Reserve your spot today!
Scene Study and Creation (pick a week below)
Teens Camp (Grades 6-12) – June 9th-13th or June 23rd-27th or July 21st-25th
Kids Camp (Grades 1-8) June 16th-20th
Campers will create & perform a short play, as well as rehearse scripted scenes and monologues and experience improv, theatre games, and more. Each week’s camp will culminate in a showcase on Friday night on the Schiller stage, prior to the Actors’ Theatre performance taking place that evening.
Park Plays: Kids Camp “The Turtle and the Bunny” (Grades 1-8) – July 14th-18th
Campers will prepare a short play, written by Ohio playwright Stacey Lane and inspired by the classic Aesop’s Fable, “The Tortoise and the Hare”. Audition, rehearse, create costumes, memorize and perform all in one exciting week! All campers are guaranteed a role and will showcase their talent in a final performance prior to The Barber of Seville, on the Schiller stage on Friday, July 18th.
Park Plays – Teens and Kids End of Summer Improv Camp (Grades 1-12)– Aug 4th-8th
All ages are invited for a week full of improvisation! Campers will celebrate the end of summer with a week of all improv, all the time. Camp showcase on Friday will feature camp favorite games, and will take place prior to the Friday night performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor.

All camps are taught by Andy Falter.
Andy is a longtime actor, director, and teacher based in Columbus, Ohio. He has taught professional, amateur, and K-12 actors for over fifteen years, including in Worthington City Schools. Andy has been seen on stages and screens throughout the United States, from multiple performances at The White House to features on The Today Show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Fox, PBS, and multiple films, including the award winning short ‘Til Death and The Bloodline. Andy was featured in Actors’ Theatre of Columbus’ 2013 production of Twelfth Night, and 2012 productions of The Merchant of Venice and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). He can be seen this season with Actors’ Theatre in Hamlet and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Andy has become the go to acting coach for thousands of students of all ages and experience levels. Andy says, “There’s a reason it’s called ‘play’.”
All camps are held at Schiller Park; outside when possible or at the Cottage when necessary.
