MANAGING DIRECTOR

Job Description

The Managing Director will collaborate with other executive staff to maintain the internal operations of Actors’ Theatre of Columbus. Managing Director responsibilities include maintaining the company budget (in coordination with the Office Manager), managing payroll, and overseeing contracts. The Managing Director will oversee production staff, provide quality control for productions, and provide a key point of contact for partner organizations including Columbus Recreation & Parks Department. The person in this role will report to the Artistic Director(s), attend staff meetings, and work with other contractors to coordinate logistical planning. People applying for this role should be well organized; provide clear communication; and pursue active collaboration. Experience with fiscal and personnel management is essential. This position will receive an annual stipend of $13,000.

This is an annual contract with the bulk of the work in the summer. Hours will vary but will be approximately 10–20hr/week during the production season (May–August) and 2–10hr/week in the off-season (September–April).

Duties:

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the production cycle for Actors’ Theatre of Columbus. This includes hiring seasonal staff, scheduling and overseeing production deadlines, and coordinating and running production meetings. This person will manage staffing for auditions and other annual events; train and manage Stage Managers; and act as a point of contact for production staff throughout the season. The Production Manager reports to the Artistic Director(s), attends staff meetings, and collaborates with the Managing Director and Office Manager to ensure that contracts are offered and received in a timely manner. The Production Manager works with directors and designers to ensure that stage productions are produced within the allotted budget with the highest achievable production values. This position will receive an annual stipend of $8,000.

This is an annual contract with the bulk of the work in the summer. Hours will vary but will be approximately 10–15hr/week during the production season (May–August) and 0–5hr/week in the off-season (September–April).
