HAMLET, 1603
BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

Directed by Sarah Neville

May 26 – June 19, 2022

A grieving son; a father’s ghost; a mother’s untimely remarriage: Shakespeare’s tragedy of Hamlet has long been among his best-known and most-celebrated plays. But before the familiar tale of delayed revenge, long scenes, and introspective speeches came Shakespeare’s earlier, younger, and much faster version. A (old) new take on the play audiences think they know, Hamlet, 1603 offers a rare opportunity to experience the exciting first draft of Shakespeare’s most famous work.

Cast

LIOR LIVSHITS (Hamlet) started acting four years ago, and fell in love with Shakespeare. He's done more Shakespeare than contemporary plays in his lifetime, and is ecstatic to explore one of Shakespeare's most challenging characters!

STEPHEN HANNA (King/Ghost) is a long time veteran of ATC and is thrilled as always to be back at "summer camp!" Favorite roles with ATC include Thisbe (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Israel Hands (Treasure Island), and Vibrata (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum). Much love to Chris and the whole family (Hi, Mom!) - and break legs, cast and crew of ‘22!

ISABELLA STEVENS (Queen Gertred) would like to thank Actors' Theatre for welcoming her to Columbus with this experience! She received her BFA in acting from New World School of the Arts, a conservatory affiliated with the University of Florida, located in the heart of downtown Miami. This will be her first opportunity to perform live for an audience since pre-pandemic times, and she’s honored to do so in the park alongside the artistic minds at ATC! Much love to Z and her family and friends back home for their endless support. Find her on Instagram @bella_stevens!

SAMUEL BOWEN PARTRIDGE (Horatio) needs theater in his life like others need overblown interpersonal drama. Outdoor summer Shakespeare is top of the list, Samuel would like to take this time to thank everyone who's ever been born.

MATTHEW MICHAEL MOORE (Corambis/Clown 1) has an MFA in theatre from GWU and has performed regionally with CATCO, Human Race Theatre, First Folio Theatre, and more. Special thanks to Mom, Dad, and Ryan.

DEVON MUSHALKO (Voldemar/Player Duchess/First Sentinel/Montano) makes her debut with Actors' Theatre, but she has dabbled on and off in theater since kindergarten. Her most recent performances were with Lord Denney's Players at The Ohio State University, including Antipholus of Syracuse (The Comedy of Errors), Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing), Hamlet (Looking for Hamlet, 1603), and Lady Capulet (Romeo and Juliet).
